Why one hour?
Because once, I promised my son cinnamon rolls for breakfast without realizing I had to leave for a martial arts class in 90 minutes. Let’s just say there was flour in my hair, a sock in the frosting (don’t ask), and a new family rule: no slow-rise dough before 10 a.m.
So I got to work. I tweaked, tested, and possibly cried into some batter—and what came out was magic. Fast, fluffy cinnamon rolls in one hour flat. No overnight rise. No dough drama. Just warm, sweet perfection.

Instructions
-
In a small sauce pan warm the milk, water & butter until the butter has melted.🌟Make sure the mixture is warm not hot. Pour into the bowl of a stand mixer or large bowl if mixing by hand & add the yeast.
-
Next lightly grease an 8x8 baking pan & set aside.
-
Add the flour, salt, sugar, & egg to the liquid mixture. Mix on low for 5 minutes or with your hands for 10 minutes. The dough should be soft & not sticky. Let rest for 10 minutes.
-
While the dough is resting preheat the oven to 200 degrees & make the cinnamon filling by mixing together the brown sugar & cinnamon. After 10 minutes roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into an 11x13 inch rectangle.
-
Spread the butter on rolled dough & sprinkle the cinnamon mixture on top. Cut the dough into 6-9, once inch wide strips & roll each strip up. Place rolls in your prepared pan
-
🌟turn off the oven & set the rolls inside to rise for 20 mins. After 20 minutes keep the rolls in the oven & turn it to 375 degrees. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the tops are browned.
-
Make the frosting by beating together the butter, cream cheese, & vanilla. Add 1 1/2C. powdered sugar, mix will. Add 1 Tbsp of cream at a time if needed to make the frosting thick yet spreadable. Ice the cinnamon rolls when they come out of the oven & serve immediately!
